HISTORY

Shuuku Farmers is part of the Kamuntu Heritage Trust and was started in 1982. Over the years it has grown to be a farm of quality livestock and standard of excellence in agriculture, winning many national awards.

 

The core activity of the farm is ranching and livestock rearing. Other activities include training, developing value added products, wild life conservation and tourism, livestock study operations.

Key Breeds on the ranch include; Brahman, Boran, Sahiwal, Zebu, Simental, Friesian, Ankole Longhorn and Cross breeds. And for Goats Boer, Mubende and Boer Hybrid/ Cross Breeds among others.

  • 3rd best ranch in Uganda –– MoAAI, Uganda -  National Agricultural Competitions 1991

  • 1st Position – Uganda National Farmer’s Association, National Agricultural Show and Trade Fair 1998

  • 2nd Position - Uganda National Farmer’s Association, National Agricultural Show and Trade Fair, 2002
